Back Pain

80% of the population will at some point in time experience back pain with varying causes and intensity.  There are more muscles, joints, bones, nerves and ligaments running up and down the back than anywhere else in the body: it is a very complex and sophisticated system.

Are you experiencing:

  • Difficulty bending down
  • Shooting pain down the leg
  • Nagging pain in the back &/or buttock
  • Pins and needles or numbness in the toes
  • Difficulty putting socks or tights on
  • Stiffness getting into or out of bed
  • Difficulty getting into or out of the car

Here’s the thing: in my experience the main cause of back pain tends to be POOR POSTURE and BAD HABITS

Diksha, thanks for dealing so successfully with my lumbar regions! I hope the following testimonials will be of use to you:

Recently I had a recurrence of incapacitating acute lumbar pain for which I had to call out my GP. She prescribed painkillers and bed-rest which worked very well up to a point. However I was left with stiffness and underlying dull pain in the region which is when I consulted Diksha Chakravarti, who had been recommended to me by a friend. Diksha took a full medical history, explained her methods of treatment very clearly then examined my back. She quickly identified misalignment of my spine and pelvis, uneven muscular tension and bad posture which she proceeded to rectify with vigorous massage & realignment techniques down the whole length of my spine, shoulders, chest and pelvis. All the while she explained the purpose of what she was doing. She also emphasised that I needed to do the exercises and posture ‘homework’ which she had recommended to maintain and progress the therapeutic value of the treatment.

After four sessions of remedial massage my back is pain-free, supple and I feel that I no longer need to ‘nurse’ it as I used to do. Naturally, I must persist with the exercises and remember to sit and stand correctly to avoid its regression to its previous state, but these should soon become second nature and habitual.
